Six Months Old!!

On Monday, Parker turned SIX MONTHS OLD!! It is so hard to believe she's already reached that "milestone." She continues to amaze us with her sweet personality and smiles and giggles. She is still spoiled rotten and loving the attention she gets every day at Granny's while Mommy and Daddy are at work. Still no interest in sitting up... she can hold herself up well in your lap, etc, but won't do it on her own. She's still only rolling over in one direction, but Mommy is okay with that, because that means we have a LITTLE while longer before the crawling begins!

The same day LSU won the National Championship, Parker's first tooth broke through! You still can't see it very well, but pictures will be coming as soon as we can get them. Now we are working on tooth #2. Even in the middle of teething, Parker remains a happy girl.

We went to the doctor for her 6 month check-up on Wednesday. She now weighs 16 lb., 15 oz. and is 26 inches long. She's in the 50th percentile in both of these. We know she's going to be a smart girl, because she's in the 90th percentile for head circumference! As Dr. Melton says, we've gotta have room for those brains! We'll be introducing the "mixed" foods and "meats" in about a month... we're going to continue mastering the first foods fruits and veggies. Her favorites seem to be bananas and squash, and she has a definite distaste for peas.

Here are a few pictures from the last month...

She really likes her play-mat and bumbo seat.

All this picture-taking is hard work!

Parker's First Christmas!

This post has been long overdue: Parker's first Christmas. Of course, it was more fun for Mommy and Daddy than Parker, but I still think she enjoyed all of her gifts and spending time with all of our family. Our "Christmas" started off with a brunch at Grandmother's with all of Poppa's family. This was the Saturday before Christmas (the 23rd). Parker got a Grandmother-made nightgown (the same material as one Mommy had as a little girl!), a "my first Christmas" bib, a cute shirt from Old Navy and a really cool LeapFrog music table and a LeapFrog Tad doll. She also got some money to put in her savings account until she's a big girl! We left brunch in Franklinton and hurried back to Uncle Troy and Aunt Allison's house for Christmas with Crunchy Paw Paw and Mrs. Judy. Parker got more cute clothes and a V-Tech bear. On Christmas Eve, we went to our church, The Ring Community Church, for a short service. Then we came home, put Parker in her Christmas "jammies," and went to bed.

When we woke up Christmas morning, Parker opened her presents from Santa. She got Born to Be a Tiger, Too! (a book), a FisherPrice "stage," and some LeapFrog toys. Then we got ready for a very busy day! We had lunch at Maw Maw and Paw Paw's with Granny's family, and dinner with Daddy's family at Maw Maw Janice's house. Parker got more toys, clothes, and books than any little girl really needs!! Here are a few of our Christmas pictures....
