Born to be a Tiger Fan!

We took Parker to visit Mike the Tiger on Sunday.  Here's Parker's first view when we arrived.

Tiger Stadium

Mosaic in front of Mike's habitat

When we got there, he was just laying around

Then, a few birds flew through the habitat, and he got up and chased them, then walked around for a while.

Then, he decided to get in the water

He came VERY close to the glass in front of us.

Parker watched him swimming in circles.

She knows she's cute!

She enjoyed her first visit to Mike the Tiger.

Butterflies and Volleyball for the Cure

Here are a few pictures of Parker with the butterfly!  (Coincidentally, this is the same kind of butterfly as her Halloween costume!)

Here are a few pictures of Parker from the Volleyball for the Cure game.

With her CC before the game.

Future volleyball player?

The back of her Volleyball for the Cure shirt... Carlee (CC) is number 3!

Silly girl

Parker is now very in to expressing what she wants!  Earlier, she was walking around the house, and turned toward the dining room.  (or so I thought)  I said, "Hey P, where are you going?"  She walked to the front door, reached for the door knob, and looked at me and said "Outside."  Needless to say, she knew what she wanted to do!

Here's a video of Parker running from her daddy ("avoiding him" or "being a tease") when he got home from work.

Here's another... more walking, and asking to go outside.

I'll post some new pics soon of the Volleyball for the Cure game and Parker with the butterfly at Granny and Poppa's. (My parents "hatched"- or whatever you call it- 6 butterflies... they got the whole process- from caterpillar to chrysalis to butterfly.)

Walking and Talking

In my last post, I mentioned that Parker had started taking a few steps.  Now, she is WALKING!  She hardly crawls at all any more.  I have tried to post a video, but it's not working, so I'll keep trying!  We are extremely excited about all of the progress she's making. Of course, walking (and just standing more in general) gives her access to things she didn't necessarily approach before- things on shelves, cabinets, etc.

Parker also talks up a storm.  I thought I'd try to list some of the things that she says.

Mama, Daddy, Ga-gee (Granny), Poppa, CC (for Aunt Carlee) ou-sigh (outside), dog, Jackson, baf (bath), kisses, nigh-nigh (night night), tinky (stinky), bu-fly (butterfly), book, cookie, et (eat), bye bye, hey.  Also, if you say "You are" she will say "precious."  And if you say "Mommy (or whoever) LOVES" she will say "Parker."  My personal favorite... when she sees herself in the mirror, she will say "eh she es" (there she is).

Parker is becoming quite the Wildcat sports fan.  We have been to all of the home football games, and almost all of the home volleyball games (plus a few away games).  This Monday is "Paint the Gym Pink- Volleyball for the Cure" to raise money for breast cancer research. We're excited about attending that to support the Susan G Komen foundation AND the Lady Wildcats.  We're also getting ready for Halloween.. Parker will actually go trick-or-treating this year.  She's going to be a butterfly!

Last weekend, we went shopping and to lunch with Mrs. Amber and Addie.  I look forward to when the girls are older and can truly play together.  Next weekend, we *might* all (Trent, me, and Parker) go to the hunting camp and spend the night.  We'll see...

Pictures (and hopefully video) coming soon!
